Meet Seger Deerenberg
Seger Deerenberg
In my project we will couple a transmembrane receptor to the yeast polarization machinery. I will explore how to optimally couple the sensing of an external signal to changes in the internal organization of a synthetic cell.
My name is Seger Deerenberg. I have a background in molecular cell biology. During my master’s I studied intracellular trafficking and signaling at Utrecht University and at the UMC Utrecht. Now, I am joining EVOLF as a PhD candidate at TU Delft in the group of Liedewij Laan. In my project we will couple a transmembrane receptor to the yeast polarization machinery. I will explore how to optimally couple the sensing of an external signal to changes in the internal organization of a synthetic cell.
As a person, I like being creative and I like being outdoors. The best way for me to end the day is by going for a nice walk… with my cats.
