Hi,

My name is Theo van Laar. Since 1st of October, I’m working in the group of Liedewij Laan for the EVOLF project. I will be rebuilding the translation machinery, and supplying the home-made PURE system to all members of the EVOLF project.

Previously, I have been rebuilding the yeast replication machinery to allow single molecule experiments on magnetic tweezer and optical tweezers. And before that, I worked on signal transduction and cell-cycle progression in mammalian cells.

Since nearly 2 years, I’m lucky to have a granddaughter. She lives in Nairobi, so if you ever have to wait a bit longer for your PURE proteins, then you know I went to Kenia to visit her.
